Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church

Aaron M. Orr Sr. was born in Charlotte, NC Mecklenburg County in 1941. He graduated from J. H. Gunn High School and completed a year at Johnson C. Smith University before enlisting in the US Air Force.  Aaron received an honorable discharge after serving 4 years in the Far-East.

After receiving an Associates Degree from Central Piedmont Community College, Aaron worked in the wholesale plumbing supply industry.  It was during this time that God gave him the vision to start his own plumbing repair service.  Stepping out on faith, AMO Plumbing Repair became a reality.

As God used Aaron in the plumbing repair business, another vision appeared, that he could be used in God's House to minister to His people.  Being an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church, the opportunity arose to become involved in the Lay Pastor Preaching Program offered by the Charlotte Presbytery.

As a commissioned Lay Pastor, Aaron served at Black's Memorial in Monroe, NC for several years.  While in Monroe, Aaron served on the Board of Directors for the ARC of Union County.  He was able to get Black's Memorial Church involved in many ministries in Monroe.

Aaron attended the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC) working on his Religious Studies Degree.

Aaron and his wife Lorraine are the proud parents of three children and three grandchildren.

Aaron has been commissioned to Cedar Grove Presbyterian for the past two years and is currently in the midst of rebuilding attendance and outreach ministries for the church family.
